Apple Pay launched for the U.S. market but it’s been clear the company wants to have a global presence. That global launch may already been in the works as Apple has an Apple Pay team in London to help it expand the mobile wallet’s reach across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.
iClarified posted an article about a recently found job posting that indicates Apple is seek members to join that team. According to the article, the post says:
“Apple Pay is a new and exciting area in Apple that is set to expand across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. …The new London-based Apple Pay team will work to drive the roll-out of this technology across EMEIA by working with a variety of internal and external partners, including teams in the U.S. where the product will first launch and the EMEIA organization, as well as Issuers, payment networks and merchants across Europe.”
Apple is also looking to hire an Apple Pay site reliability in China, the article reported. This comes during the same week Apple announced the company now supports 90 percent of all credit cards used for purchases in the U.S.
“The Apple Pay Site Reliability Engineering Team is hiring for multiple roles focused on the front line customer experience and the back end integration of Apple systems with our Network and Banking partners,” the post said.
