Mary Shelley Named Chief People Officer Of Tango Card

Digital rewards and loyalty provider Tango Card has named Mary Shelley as its inaugural chief people officer, according to a Tuesday (July 13) announcement emailed to PYMNTS.

Shelley arrives at Tango Card at an “important inflection point” for the company. To that end, Tango Card’s business growth is accelerating, and the firm is quickly growing its workforce — recently topping 200 full-time staffers.

Moreover, Tango Card is aiming to be “progressive and thoughtful” when it comes to defining the future of work for all the firm’s staffers, according to the announcement.

“Having [Shelley] join us at this stage of our growth and evolution is critical to our success as a company,” Tango Card CEO and Founder David Leeds said in the announcement. “We set out to find someone with the skills, approach, and temperament to help all of us navigate and thrive, and I’m confident we found this in [Shelley].”

Shelley served as Seek Now’s vice president of human resources (HR) in the past and has worked in HR leadership positions at other organizations such as Infusionsoft, CafePress and Everything But The House (EBTH).

“I am thrilled to join Tango Card because of our technology, mission, values, focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and commitment to our customers and recipients,” Shelley said in the announcement. “I am energized to partner with super smart, passionate, and dedicated Tangocardians to scale the business effectively while both evolving our amazing culture and navigating the post-COVID new way of working.”

The news comes as Tango Card named Monica Williams to the position of chief financial officer (CFO).

“When we began recruiting a CFO, Monica immediately stood ut. Her experience as a CFO in growth companies was a great fit for us,” Leeds said in a February announcement.

Enterprise clients harness Tango Card’s technology as part of staffer recognition, health and wellness engagement, sales incentive programs and consumer loyalty efforts.
