Penske Truck Rental Debuts Consumer App

Penske Truck Rental, with a new mobile app, intends to streamline the experience for renters with “flexibility, expert advice, moving tips, greener moving options and a network of supplies and services,” a press release says.

The app will be available through the App Store and Google Play Store.

There are numerous new features available, including being able to find the closest Penske locations via an interactive map, getting a quote and managing a reservation digitally, and accessing how-to videos with moving tips and loading guides and safety protocols for other references.

In addition, the press release says there’s also 24/7 roadside assistance.

There’s also going to be bundling options available, with four bundles allowing users to pick a plan that works for them.

Penske also recently rolled out a carsharing unit, PYMNTS writes.

It announced that the unit would be rolled out solely in Washington DC and Arlington, VA as of October 2019.

The service is called Penske Dash, and provides users with an on-demand service for vehicles to be rented whenever one needs. The rental rates cover everything from fuel to parking and insurance. And members also have access to a 24/7 call center and operations team.

“We are excited to bring a new mobility option to Washington, DC and Arlington, bolstered by Penske’s longstanding commitment to quality and customer service,” Michael Montri, chief operating officer of Penske Dash, said in a press release. “From the technology used, to the upkeep of our vehicles, to customer and roadside support, every facet of Penske Dash was designed to provide our members with the highest-quality and most consistent carsharing experience possible. From here, we plan to evolve with the needs of these communities, listening closely to their feedback, to not only create but maintain a best-in-class carsharing service.”
