Digital sports content provider Genius Sports Limited announced on Thursday (Sept. 9) that the company has entered into a long-term arrangement with Philadelphia-based Penn Interactive to provide official sports data and fan engagement solutions for the company’s Barstool Sportsbook.
Penn Interactive operates online Barstool Sportsbooks across nine states, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois and New Jersey. As part of the partnership, Genius Sports will provide Barstool Sportsbook with various sports-related content, including access to select official sports data from the U.S. and international sports leagues, information about player acquisitions, and insight on sports fan engagement and retention.
Barstool Sportsbook is a betting experience available through Penn Interactive’s retail books as well as the Barstool Sportsbook mobile app, according to the company’s website.
In addition to its arrangement with Penn Interactive, Genius Sports also provides exclusive sports content to other U.S. sports betting companies, according to the press release. Some of the content made available to partners comes from the company’s collaboration with more than 400 global sports organization partners. NASCAR’s suite of data-powered, in-race betting markets, access to the NFL’s real-time statistics and official sports betting feed, and sports data from top-tier leagues are among Genius Sports’ offerings.
“Delivering official data to our growing, loyal audience will provide tremendous wagering opportunities for our users,” said Jon Kaplowitz, head of Penn Interactive. “We also look forward to reaching sports fans who may not yet have experienced the Barstool Sportsbook through access to marketing inventory on NFL digital properties from Genius Sports.”
