Babylon has acquired DayToDay Health, giving Babylon members access to DayToDay’s digital-first, medical-related programs and services, according to a Wednesday (Jan. 19) press release.
Babylon’s members will have access to programs and clinical services before and after scheduled surgeries, major events such as childbirth, and when chronic conditions have been diagnosed.
The release notes the lack of support for people during the recovery periods following a hospital stay, and DayToDay’s services help with that by providing patients with targeted education, communication and clinical care support.
With its services, DayToDay says it has been able to keep rehospitalization below 4% — as opposed to the industry average of 15%. Expected wound infection rates were also down by 93%.
Per the release, Babylon plans to integrate the DayToDay scalable capabilities and make its digital-first healthcare offering better.
That will come along with Babylon’s team of clinicians, doctors and nurses looking over the implementation of DayToDay’s pre- and post-operative care management, which will let clinicians support patients more efficiently and send them home with more knowledge of their well being.

“As we continue to evolve our value-based care services and empower our members to take control of their health, the addition of pre- and post-surgical care will help our members at a significant period of needs, improving overall accessibility, quality and affordability outcomes,” Parsa continued.

Higi’s services include remote monitoring, and its Smart Health Stations are located within 5 miles of 73% of the U.S. population.
Babylon will combine its scalable tech platform with Higi and help “reengineer” touchpoints for healthcare. Meanwhile, Higi will assist in offering a new way to make healthcare “accessible and affordable.”
