PayPal has expanded money services to help Ukraine humanitarian efforts. The global FinTech digital payments company has expanded peer-to-peer payments for Ukrainian customers that will supplement the company’s existing PayPal and Xoom services available in the war-torn country.
Three Dutch tech entrepreneurs have joined the humanitarian effort in Ukraine. Ali Niknam of bunq, Joris Beckers from Picnic and Robert Vis at MessageBird established a foundation to shelter refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. The People for People Foundation was founded last month after Niknam said he received many responses to his LinkedIn message that he posted in February.
Silicon Valley-based FinTech EvoShare, which was founded by Ukrainian natives, launched its Aid Ukraine initiative Thursday (March 17), offering customers a way to donate a percentage of their cash-back points earned to support the Ukrainian humanitarian effort.
Shift4, a payment and commerce technology provider, has launched a campaign to raise more than $20 million for nonprofits on The Giving Block, a cryptocurrency fundraising platform to support Ukraine relief efforts. CEO Jared Isaacman said he will match the first $10 million in cryptocurrency donations.
Lyft, the ride-sharing company, has expanded its partnership with YMCA’s World Service Campaign, the organization founded to help those who are impacted by the Ukraine conflict. The feature allows riders to round up their fare to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to emergency relief efforts on the ground.
