Snapchat is piloting a new paid subscription tier for “Snapchatters” that would offer exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features, the ability to pin conversations, special badges and other perks.
“We’re doing early internal testing of Snapchat Plus, a new subscription service for Snapchatters. We’re excited about the potential to share exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features with our subscribers, and learn more about how we can best serve our community,” a company spokesperson said.

Mobile developer, reverse engineer and leaker Alessandro Paluzzi tweeted that the subscription will cost $4.82 per month or $48.32 per year and will unlock numerous features, including knowing friends’ whereabouts in the last 24 hours and knowing how many friends rewatched a user’s story.
One paid tier perk seems to overlap with Snapchat’s free beta program — letting users test new features before they’re released. Snapchat is currently accepting new beta testers into its iOS program, but its Android enrollment is on hold for now, according to the website.
