Switzerland’s first digital private bank Alpian is partnering with Visa to offer a premier metal debit card across the country.

By teaming up with Visa, Alpian can offer customers an “exclusive metal debit card with a multicurrency current account” that includes Swiss francs, euros, British pounds and U.S. dollars, and real-time foreign exchange capabilities, according to a press release on Tuesday (Sept. 6).

The card has no handling fees and offers each client a “unique, elegant and cost-effective means” for everyday banking needs.

The partnership between the two companies follows the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) granting Alpian a full Swiss banking license, according to the release. Alpian also completed the Series B+ financing round of 19 million Swiss francs ($19.3 million).

After being granted the license and raising a Series B+ funding round, Alpian started rolling out its services to some of the people on its waitlist. A full launch is anticipated before the year is out.

“The joint journey with Alpian now receiving a full FINMA banking license has been excellent. We are very much looking forward to see the first Alpian-issued Visa debit cards in the Swiss market and to continue the collaboration with this great partner to help them achieve their growth objectives in providing innovative services for all regions of Switzerland,” said Santosh Ritter, Visa’s country manager for Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

The capabilities, sophistication and stability of the Visa enterprise enables Alpian to deliver just that in its card offering.
