Apple Pay can put another one on the books — for its merchant list, that is.
As reported by 9 To 5 Mac, Express clothing stores are among the growing list of retailers that now accept Apple Pay, which will extend to both iPhone and Apple Watch capabilities. While the mobile payments app is gaining widespread acceptance across close to 70 merchants, there aren’t many clothing stores that have officially added Apple Pay as a payment option.
Popular clothing retailers that do accept Apple Pay include: Bloomingdale’s, American Eagle and Macy’s, but more seem to get added to the list on a weekly basis. Most recently, deals have been in the works to get Apple Pay potentially added as an official payment option at Trader Joe’s and Home Depot. The biggest retail news for Apple Pay recently was the anticipated addition of Best Buy, which until now has been a loyal MCX retailer, as a retail partner.
Outside of the retail scene, Apple Pay has also continued to add to its list of banks and credit unions that will support Apple Pay. The most recent list includes: 1st Financial Federal Credit Union, Affinity Bank, Bank of Springfield, Berkshire Bank, Box Elder Credit Union, C&F Bank, Centennial Bank, Christian Community Credit Union, Community First Credit Union of Florida, Credit Union of Denver, Denver Community Credit Union, Education First Credit Union, Educators Credit Union, First City Credit Union, First Premier Bank, Freedom Credit Union, NASA Federal Credit Union, Numerica Credit Union, Point Loma Credit Union, PremierOne Credit Union, Purdue Federal Credit Union, Rivermark Community Credit Union, Simmons First National Bank, Star USA Federal Credit Union, Summit Credit Union, Synchrony Bank, The Citizens Bank of Clovis, UMe Federal Credit Union, University Federal Credit Union, Utah Power Credit Union, Valor Credit Union, Vermont Federal Credit Union, WECU (Whatcom Educational CU), and WSECU.
Apple Pay has also added to its in-app presence, as it was recently added as a mobile payment option with Cole Haan, the U.S. lifestyle, footwear and accessories brand — making it the first lifestyle brand to adopt the technology within a retailer’s app, the company reported.
