MasterCard’s “FastTrack” To Helping FinTech Startups

Payment tech entrepreneurs, start (up) your engines and head for New York.

MasterCard announced today (May 27) that it will be hosting the New York edition of Startupbootcamp’s FastTrack event at the MasterCard Tech Hub in Manhattan on June 1.

As noted in a blog post on the company site, MasterCard has previously worked with Startupbootcamp — a global network of industry-focused startup accelerators with programs throughout Europe — as a partner in its Fintech programs in London and Singapore.

By helping to bring the accelerator network to New York City, MasterCard is continuing in the stated mission of the MasterCard Start Path program, which fosters connection with and development of early stage startups around the globe. Through the program, MasterCard provides the nascent companies with direct operational support, small strategic investments, and accelerated access to MasterCard customers worldwide.

“We realize the future of payments and commerce isn’t just going to be shaped by traditional players, but by these startups that are actively developing the next generation of solutions today,” Stephane Wyper, VP, Startup Engagement & Acceleration at MasterCard, wrote in the blog post.

Regarding the FastTrack event in Manhattan, Wyper added, “We are looking forward to welcoming the new batch of applicants and also allowing MasterCard employees to directly learn about the technologies that are being developed by these startups. We are always interested in mentoring and helping guide these businesses to build out their solutions, and giving our own employees early access to the startups is an invaluable way of making sure we are ready to help.”
