Shopping for office supplies just got a little easier for Office Depot and OfficeMax customers. Office Depot Inc., the parent company of the global retailers offering office products and services, announced yesterday (June 1) the launch of its app designed specifically for the Apple Watch.
The Office Depot app will include features geared exclusively toward elevating the shopping experience of its on-the-go consumers. The app’s features include: voice-activated product search, daily deal alerts, ink level monitoring and retail store location using the Apple Watch’s navigation.
“Office Depot is committed to digital innovation and creating an even better mobile shopping experience for our customers,” said Kevin Moffitt, vice president of eCommerce, in a company release. “Our new Apple Watch app takes advantage of some of the key features of our online experience and offers them the at-a-glance convenience that Apple Watch provides. Customers can quickly find deals, shop for products, navigate to a local store or reorder ink and toner supplies, right from their wrist.”
Office Depot’s Apple Watch app presents a new way to shop via the voice-activated product search feature, which allows customers to find items that can later be added to their cart and purchased in the Office Depot app for iPhone. Ink and toner cartridges can also be located and ordered directly through the Apple Watch.
Office Depot Inc. joins the ranks of many other major retailers who are rolling out apps to make their products easily shoppable by wrist. Both Poshmark and Woolworths have recently launched apps exclusively for Apple Watch with hopes of reaching their customers in new ways. Like Office Depot, Woolworths’ app encourages customers to utilize its app for the iPhone to enhance their mobile shopping experience.
