Douglas Trauber is joining Citigroup as Global Co-Head of Retail within the Investment Banking group next August to oversee coverage for Citi’s Retail banking team. He will work hand in hand with Co-Head of Retail, Richard Moriarty. The appointment was announced in a June 1 press release.
Doublas Trauber is currently Head of Retail at Credit Suisse and previously served as Executive Director of UBS’s Retails and Consumer Industry group.
“We are proud that Douglas will be joining the Citi team,” said Raymond J. McGuire, Global Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Citi, in the release. “This announcement clearly shows Citi’s commitment to providing our clients with the best advice and talent in the market. With his wealth of experience, deep industry relationships and long track record of success, Douglas brings a range of skills to our retail practice, enhancing our ability to provide innovative solutions to our clients.”
Trauber graduated from The Wharton School and Washington University in Saint Louis.
Yesterday (June 1) was expected to be the first day for Stephen Bird as Citi’s chief of global consumer banking — an appointment that was announced mid-April. Bird had previously run Citigroup’s Asia Pacific region and was slated to take over for Manuel Medina-Mora, who announced his retirement in February. Bird’s move also resulted in some further job shuffling.
Francisco Aristeguieta, who has been Citi’s Latin America chief, was named the new head of Asia Pacific and will move to Hong Kong from Miami. Jane Fraser, who oversees Citi’s global mortgages along with U.S. consumer and commercial banking, will take over in Latin America, moving to Miami from New York. It will be up to Bird to choose her replacement.
