TriumphPay Expands Partnership With Logistics Firm Schneider

Transportation payments platform TriumphPay and logistics company Schneider National are expanding their relationship.

The Dallas-based TriumphPay said in a news release Wednesday (Nov. 30) it was adding Schneider to its open payments network.

“When Schneider adopts new technology, the rest of the industry follows,” TriumphPay President Melissa Forman said in the release.

“We look forward to continuing to grow with Schneider by helping recognize payments efficiencies and improve their carrier experience, and are excited to welcome additional brokers to the network in the coming months.”

Schneider first teamed with TriumphPay in 2020 to create easier, quicker transactions for third-party carrier payments.

Ben Schuchart, senior vice president of Schneider Transportation Management, said Wednesday that the expanded partnership will simplify the company’s payments process and introduce “even more transparency into invoice processing.”

Digitizing and automating the business, especially at the transaction level, has been a key focus at Schneider, the company said earlier this year.

During an earnings report in August, CEO and President Mark Rourke said the company was seeing its efforts begin to show results in its logistics business and is bringing those same digital tools to its other segments.

“We anticipate over time becoming more of a trailing equipment-centric organization as a result of using our technology and our network management capabilities around assets — in this case, trailers — to aggregate freight on behalf of our customers,” Rourke said.

Also in August, PYMNTS hosted TriumphPay’s Forman and others in the transportation and logistics field to discuss erasing friction within the supply chain.

We noted then that companies in this sector have worked to “add efficiency in the processes that reduce shipper dependencies on manual overrides and interventions in connecting loads to payments.”

Automated workflows, we wrote, create value in a number of ways, including providing data transparency for shippers and carriers to track transactions, data sharing, and a more streamlined and secure process across the ecosystem.
