Nitra Adds Free Walmart Business+ Trial to Its Cardholder Benefits

Nitra

Nitra is now offering its cardholders a free six-month trial to Walmart Business+.

Nitra provides smart expense management solutions and business support for medical practices and healthcare providers, while Walmart Business+ membership includes free shipping, no minimum and 2% back in rewards on orders totaling $250 or more, Nitra said in a Thursday (April 20) press release.

“Walmart is one of the biggest retailers in the world, and we are proud to be working together,” Nitra founder and CEO Jonathan Chen said in the release. “Walmart Business’s goal of supporting small enterprises aligns well with Nitra’s mission to build a simpler, smarter way for healthcare practices to manage their expenses and create time for what matters.”

This new offer joins other benefits available with the Nitra Visa Business Card, which include unlimited 2% cash-back rewards on purchases made for the practice, discounts at medical suppliers, automatic reconciliation, spend analytics and insights, and unlimited virtual cards, according to the press release.

This announcement comes about eight months after Nitra raised $62 million in a seed round and launched its Visa Business card for physicians.

The firm said in August 2022 that it would use the funds to bring modern financial products, integrated medical software and supply chain solutions to practitioners and physicians in the healthcare industry.

“Our goal is to partner with practitioners to provide an ecosystem that combines innovative [FinTech] and cutting-edge software solutions to help doctors better manage their practices and better focus on their patients,” Chen said at the time.

Walmart launched Walmart Business in January, saying the B2B procurement website is aimed at small and medium-sized business (SMBs) and nonprofit customers and offers a “curated assortment” of more than 100,000 items.

“As we’ve spoken with customers, they have identified key product for their operations,” Walmart Business Senior Vice President and General Manager Ashley Hubka said Jan. 20. “These areas include office supplies and furniture, food and beverage, restroom, electronics, classroom and facility needs. Walmart Business simplifies restocking by grouping various items together in a way that makes sense to organizations.”

PYMNTS research has found that automation of payment and invoicing processes can grant both healthcare organizations and their suppliers many benefits.

These improvements can provide better speed and predictability of payments, increased protection of sensitive patient data and more accurate invoicing and payment status, according to the “B2B Payments in Healthcare Tracker®,” a PYMNTS and American Express collaboration.
