GNC has added free healthcare products and services to its loyalty program.
With the new GNC Health added to the upgraded GNC PRO Access membership, which has a fixed fee of $39.99 per year, customers can now receive access to free telehealth appointments, 40 generic versions of urgent care medications and 70 generic personal health medications, the health and wellness brand said in a Thursday (July 20) press release.
“We recognize the benefits of free supplemental healthcare services through GNC Health will add significant value to our loyalty members who are seeking more convenient access to healthcare offerings that help them live well,” Allison Bentley, senior director of strategic initiatives at GNC, said in the release.
In addition to the telehealth appointments and more than 100 free prescriptions with no co-pay, customers enrolled in GNC Pro Access receive 10% cashback rewards on every purchase, one free GNC bar or drink with purchase every month and free expedited shipping, according to the press release.
GNC Health provides customers a convenient way to manage their healthcare needs through access to licensed medical professionals (MDs), reduced wait time for both urgent care and personal health appointments, and an affordable subscription, the release said.
“We’re always looking for ways to create an easy and more rewarding shopping experience for our customers,” Jenna O’Connor, senior director of loyalty marketing at GNC, said in the release. “We took a consumer-first approach, evaluated the benefits our customers use most and leveled up our program from there to now include streamlined benefits and more value.”
PYMNTS research has found that between 30% and 40% of consumers participate in telehealth appointments at least once a month throughout 2022 and 2023.
No longer a byproduct of the pandemic era, telemedicine has found its permanent place in today’s healthcare ecosystem, helping patients and providers alike, according to the April edition of the “ConnectedEconomy Monthly Report.”
The report also found that telehealth is expected to continue its steady rise in popularity as consumers maintain a cross-channel experience for their medical interactions.
In other recent news in the healthcare space, CVS Caremark and GoodRx announced on July 12 that they would launch a program to help members pay lower out-of-pocket prices on generic medications at the pharmacy counter.
