On-demand delivery management platform Cartwheel has integrated with the Toast Partner Ecosystem.
Through this integration, restaurants that use Cartwheel’s Hybrid Delivery technology and third-party fleet management capabilities will now be able to manage their delivery operations directly from the Toast point-of-sale (POS) system, the companies said in a Thursday (Aug. 10) press release.
Toast’s open and partner-driven approach will allow a variety of restaurants to use Cartwheel’s technology for delivery optimization, Cartwheel CEO and Co-founder Alex Vasilkin said in the release.
“Especially in categories like pizza, where efficiency is paramount, we are proud to equip Toast customers with the tools to excel in delivery operations,” Vasilkin said.
Cartwheel’s Hybrid Delivery solution enhances restaurant delivery operations by optimizing both in-house and outsourced deliveries, according to the release. By being able to access multiple prominent third-party fleets on a national level, the solution provides flexibility and choice for seamless order fulfillment.
The new integration will streamline order flow between Toast and Cartwheel for restaurants, the release said. It will also enhance customer satisfaction for both in-house and third-party deliveries via a customizable and branded order tracking interface.
The Toast Partner Ecosystem includes more than 200 partners and provides restaurant operators with specialized technologies and services around sales, guest engagement and employee satisfaction, per the release.
“We are delighted to welcome Cartwheel to the Toast Partner Ecosystem and extend our customers the advantages of Hybrid Delivery and fleet management capabilities seamlessly integrated with the Toast POS,” Keith Corbin, senior director of business development at Toast, said in the release.
The announcement of this partnership comes about a week after Toast debuted a new tool called Toast Catering & Events. Integrated with its POS, this tool helps restaurants manage catering orders and plan events — two growth areas that are top of mind for restaurants looking to diversify their revenue streams.
In February, Toast announced its acquisition of digital drive-thru signage company Delphi Display Systems. The company made this addition to boost its quick-service restaurant (QSR) offerings and facilitate a service model that has become increasingly important over the past few years.
