The video and eCommerce retail company is expanding its presence to Apple TV.
QVC announced the launch of its Apple TV app yesterday (Oct. 29), which will allow customers to tune into QVC programming and make purchases with the click of the remote.
Along with the launch of the new Apple TV, QVC’s app will be made available in the U.S., with plans for subsequent launches in the U.K. and Germany to follow in the coming weeks.
“As consumers continue to view television programming in new and diverse ways, we are excited to leverage the video and commerce capabilities of Apple’s tvOS to help our customers further engage with the QVC community,” Alex Miller, QVC’s SVP of digital commerce, said in a press release.
“This new offering demonstrates our ongoing commitment to bringing the QVC experience to life on today’s most innovative platforms.”
Through the QVC app on Apple TV, customers will have the ability to view live programming on QVC and QVC PLUS. But the app will also offer a streamlined purchasing experience with a “speed buy” button shown on-screen during programming. This function enables QVC customers to purchase the featured item instantly, without having to enter payment and shipping information.
“With the all-new tvOS operating system, we were able to create an innovative, immersive shopping experience on Apple TV,” said Venkatesh Natarajan, vice president of IT commerce platforms at QVC. “QVC Apple TV will continue to evolve, offering new features and capabilities over time.”
