Corporate expense management firms are beginning to migrate their solutions onto mobile devices like smartphones, tablets and even wearable devices like smartwatches. While it may seem high-tech, it’s a safe bet. For business executives on the go and corporate travelers in need of expense report solutions, professionals can’t always access a desktop computer to manage spend and finances.
Expensify has taken its own dive into the mobile world of corporate expenses with a new mobile application built for iOS devices — a move made as the company announced this week that it has also struck a new collaboration deal with Apple.
In a statement, Expensify Founder and CEO David Barrett said the company is “extremely excited to be partnering with Apple to bring seamless expense report software integration to their iOS customers.”

The announcement coincided with the new app that allows corporate clients to take pictures of their receipts and automate data entry into the Expensify T&E platform, the company said. The app also provides mileage tracking and expense report submission capabilities so corporate travelers can complete their expense reports right on the iPad.
Apple has become a popular partner for corporate expense management service providers, in part due to demand from their clients and traveling employees.
As commercial card issuers begin to eye Apple Pay for their solutions, for example, the technology conglomerate has been exploring its own entryways into the world of T&E.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s head of global card and comprehensive payables for global transaction services, Kevin Phalen, said earlier this year that corporate travelers are eager to adopt Apple Pay technologies. Meanwhile, in the last several months, T&E firms have been linking their tools to the Apple Watch and other Apple devices as Apple itself strengthens its position within the enterprise.
