Amazon’s added yet another perk for its Prime subscribers: A monthly membership to its AmazonFresh delivery service will now only cost Prime membership holders $14.99 per month.
AmazonFresh currently costs most users a $299 annual fee for unlimited delivery service, which works out to a little less than $25 a month. The new price for Prime members essentially adds up to $180 a year for AmazonFresh delivery, but consumers need to keep in mind that a Prime membership currently costs $99 annually anyway, making the AmazonFresh add-on essentially a wash for Prime members.
Amazon confirmed that the new pricing for Prime members began this week via a statement emailed to TechCrunch:
“As of Tuesday, customers in all regions can now use AmazonFresh for just $14.99 per month as an add-on to their Prime membership. We’re excited to offer customers a flexible membership option that allows them to pay on a monthly basis.”
Amazon will also allow members to pay for both a Prime membership in a $10.99 monthly installment and the AmazonFresh service for the $14.99 monthly installment, essentially bringing the total monthly price of the services combined to $25.98, although they will be billed to the customer separately.
