WePay Drives Mobile Revenue With Apple Pay, Android Pay

WePay Mobile Revenue

Online payments provider WePay announced new product updates that will enable it to drive mobile revenues for the online platforms it supports via Apple Pay and Android Pay.

As of Thursday (March 16), WePay customers can now utilize Apple Pay and Android Pay on the internet to maximize mobile web checkout conversion on their websites.

In a statement, the company noted that the integrated payment methods will help online platforms to address the most significant barrier to mobile conversion: poor internet experiences that lead to friction-filled online checkouts.

Despite the fact that mobile commerce sales make up nearly 30 percent of all U.S. eCommerce purchases, checkout conversion on mobile devices is still just one third of that of desktop rates.

“Streamlining the mobile checkout experience is a huge opportunity, as more and more people use their mobile devices for anything and everything, including their commerce,” Bill Clerico, CEO of WePay, said in a statement. “Removing the friction that exists today makes paying on mobile devices easier, delivering real value to our platform partners and the people [who] use them.”

Customers of these platforms will be able to leverage Apple Pay or Android Pay to purchase items with one touch within their browser.

“Integrating Android Pay and Payment Request API with WePay makes it easier for even more businesses of all sizes to offer their customers a simple, faster mobile web payment experience that drives conversions,” Spencer Spinnell, director of business development at Google, added.
