There’s liking friend chicken, loving friend chicken — and loving fried chicken so much that one needs to be reminded of its subtle deliciousness at all times. And for those rare and dedicated customers, the Colonel has something special cooking: Kentucky Fried Clothing.
Okay, so technically they aren’t frying the clothes or actually calling them Kentucky Fried Clothes (though they should) — what KFC has done is make it a bit easier for everyone to live deliciously through the launch of an online shop that can be the consumer’s one-stop shopping destination on the web for all of the finest in fried chicken-related apparel and accessories. And, of course, limited edition KFC goods, whatever those may be.
And shopping at this QSR is for all income levels — the lucre starts at a very reasonable $8 a shot — and includes all types of items from Colonel Sanders-inspired T-shirts to enamel pins, from framed artwork to throw pillows with the Colonel’s face on them. Work at a serious job and afraid your patients/clients/co-workers won’t take your seriously with a Colonel Sanders t-shirt on? If you don’t work in Silicon Valley, you’re probably right (and if you do work in Silicon Valley, the Colonel could be your key to proving your out-of-the-box thinking skills and putting you on the rocket sled to success). Lucky for you, Kentucky Fried Chicken also has some low key items on offer — drumstick socks for example — that can be blended into even the most conservative business casual environment. If one is felling particularly fashion-forward, there is always the classic string bow tie that the Colonel has been rocking for decades.
The “Finger Lickin’ Good” gold-plated necklace, on the other hand, might be too bold a statement of support for Fried Chicken Thug life for most mainstream workplaces.
And, if one is wondering how to upgrade their experience on the QSR’s shop and really find a way to standout, there is always the 400-year-old meteorite currently on sale in the shop for a mere $20,000. The space rock has apparently been shaped to resemble a Zinger chicken sandwich and, according to reports, is meant to serve “as a commemorative memento of the Zinger’s stratospheric mission.”
“Kentucky Fried Chicken and Colonel Sanders have been American pop culture icons for more than 70 years. Our fans were craving a way to embrace the fried chicken lifestyle, and KFC Limited gives them the opportunity to let their colonel flag fly,” says Steve Kelly, KFC U.S. director of media and digital.
KFC plans to partner with other notable apparel and lifestyle brands to create one-of-a-kind collaborations available only from KFC Limited in the future.
Yum.
