Opus Bank announced news of a new chief financial officer on Monday (Nov. 13).
The financial institution (FI) said Nicole M. Carrillo, Opus’ current executive vice president and CFO, has resigned effective Nov. 9. Kevin L. Thompson is coming on board as Opus’ new EVP and CFO and will join its executive committee as well.
Thompson is coming to the bank from Midland States Bancorp, where he was EVP and CFO as well.
“We thank Nicole for her years of service, having joined Opus early in the bank’s infancy, and we wish her the best,” said Opus Bank Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, Stephen H. Gordon, in a statement. “We are proud to welcome Kevin Thompson to Opus Bank as its chief financial officer and as a member of the bank’s executive committee. Kevin is a skilled strategic thinker who brings a wealth of experience in public accounting and reporting, strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, treasury management, risk management and the development and execution of significant strategic initiatives.”
Last year, the bank named Raed Alfayoumi as its new managing director of the technology banking unit at the FI. Soon after, Opus Bank named Robert Affleck as managing director of its healthcare banking operations.
