Starbucks will today begin accepting Square Wallet at over 7,000 of its U.S. Stores. Square Wallet users will be able to pay at Starbucks, use Square Directory to search for nearby locations, scan menus and store hours and view their transaction history. The wallet is available for both Android and iOS devices, and uses QR code scanning to make purchases.
“Starbucks believes in the values and vision of Square, and just three months after announcing our partnership with Square, we are thrilled to make the convenience of paying with the Square Wallet app available to our customers starting today,” said Adam Brotman, Starbucks’ chief digital officer.
New of Square’s partnership with Starbucks first broke in August, when the coffee retail giant announced not only plans for the Square Wallet program, but also $25 million in Series D financing for the mobile payments company.
