Payment solutions provider Ingenico announced on Wednesday that it will support Banamax as it seeks to spread the popularity of contactless payments in Mexico.

    “This significant initiative will allow the retailers from the different productive sectors serving sundry segments of the population to accept over [1 million] contactless cards recently issued in the country,” the company wrote in a release.

    The move follows months of on-field testing by Banamax.
