Walmart has announced that it is partnering with Handy to offer customers at more than 2,000 of its stores installation and assembly services.
Customers can purchase Handy’s at-home services while checking out in the store, and then simply schedule an appointment with a qualified local professional to perform the tasks anytime from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. All Handy services are backed by the Handy Happiness Guarantee.
“At Walmart, we are tirelessly searching for new and creative ways to improve the everyday lives of our customers by providing great experiences that extend from our stores into their homes,” said Daniel Eckert, senior vice president, Walmart Services and Digital Acceleration, Walmart U.S. “Our program with Handy enables us to eliminate the friction of installation and assembly, and offer customers a convenient, delightful experience from start to finish. We know Handy’s services are going to be a big help to our busy customers.”
New York-based Handy’s services are currently available for purchase in 25 Walmart stores in Atlanta, and will be available in 2,000 additional Walmart stores next month.
“Walmart is relentlessly devoted to improving their customer’s shopping experience,” said Oisin Hanrahan, co-founder and CEO of Handy. “We are thrilled to work with Walmart to fundamentally enhance the way that their shoppers access the services needed to enjoy their purchases.”
This is the latest service Walmart is developing for its customer base. Earlier this month it announced that it was planning to offer home delivery of groceries in 100 cities in the U.S. by the end of 2018.
And last year it was revealed that Walmart and smart door lock maker August were collaborating on a new service that will make it easier for Walmart shoppers to receive purchases and groceries via an in-home delivery — as opposed to leaving packages on the front porch. That service is still in the testing phase.
