A new company called Debit Network Alliance has been created by ten U.S. PIN debit networks, according to a December 11 press release from the new business.
The goal of the company is “to provide a structure for the governance, deployment and implementation of the EMV debit standard.”
Debit Network Alliance is comprised of AFFN, ATH, CO-OP Financial Services, NETS, NYCE, Presto!, Pulse, SHAZAM and STAR.
While Debit Network Alliance will work toward the U.S. adoption of EMV, other options exist in the market today. To read TSYS global director of fraud management solutions Jonathan Hancock’s take on why 3D Secure might serve as a key alternative on this side of the Atlantic, click here.
