Chase Pay is teaming up with Tock with customized culinary experiences in mind.
The companies said on Tuesday (June 26) that through the initiative, Chase Pay will integrate with Tock’s restaurant booking system and will offer Chase cardholders access to everything from “chef’s tables to winery tours” and curated menus.
Tock’s features span a reservation engine, table management and other organization features for restaurants.
In a press release, the firms said customers will be able to schedule Tock experiences through Chase Pay, via Chase credit or debit cards, points or by combining the two.
In tandem with that activity — the official partnership begins this summer — Chase and Tock will create culinary events nationwide that are geared toward Chase customers. Eligible cards include Chase Sapphire or Chase Freedom. The Chase Pay app will enable users to redeem points at checkout, pay for items and access offers.
According to the release, upon reserving an event, Chase Pay users will have access to tables and tastings.
“We want to provide customers with a commerce experience that helps them easily connect to the things they love. Our partnership with Tock allows customers to discover new and unique dining experiences and, through Chase Pay, use their Ultimate Rewards points to pay for unforgettable experiences, from a Michelin 3-Star restaurant to the best taco pop-up in their neighborhood,” Jennifer Roberts, head of Chase Pay, said in the statement.
The news follows another initiative announced earlier this month when Chase said it would roll out a Starbucks Rewards Visa Prepaid Card (with Starbucks of course). Under the parameters of that card, users are able to earn rewards outside Starbucks locations (redeemable at Starbucks) upon using the card.
In this space roughly a year ago, PYMNTS noted that Tock stands among alternatives in the table booking space, with a boon to eatery operators, as it lets them manage operations more efficiently — enabling them to order food and schedule staff accordingly. Reservations can be staggered, tied to staffing, and customer service can be improved. As noted then, Tock’s platform has the capacity to work on a large scale, completing as many as 10,000 reservations in under 90 seconds.
