The poll of 1,024 Aussies showed 55 percent of respondents expected to use loyalty plans from their phones, 45 percent to redeem coupons, 44 percent store receipts, and 43 percent expected to use their phones to get around on public transportation, according to a report in Finextra that cited the survey.

Asked who they trust to provide mobile wallets, 44 percent said banks, compared with 16 percent who said the government, 14 percent said tech firms such as Google, and 10 percent who said retailers.
