Corporate travel and expense report management company Travelstop has launched throughout Asia, with the iPhone playing a key part in its growth efforts.
Reports Monday (Jan. 21) in Skift said Travelstop has entered seven new markets across Asia, expanding beyond its home market of Singapore. The company will introduce local versions of its solution in seven different languages, with plans to target other startups in need of a digital, automated travel and expense management solution.
In addition to its expansion in Asia, Travelstop is launching an iPhone app in support of the high penetration rate of mobile devices in the region. The app will allow business travelers to view trip information and file expenses while on their trip. Reports said the Android version of the app will be released later this year.
In an interview with the publication, Travelstop CEO Prashant Kirtane said the company is a “100 percent self-serve and machine learning platform, and corporates and employees can on-board themselves in a matter of minutes” because the platform is easy to use.
“We support most of the Asian languages, currencies, merchants and we are focused deeply in providing the best possible travel booking options for business travelers in Asia,” he said.
The firm’s expansion across Asia comes only a few months after its initial launch, reports said. The company also introduced its solution in beta, which revealed several key trends in corporate travel booking and expense management, including the revelation that CFOs do not book travel by themselves. That led to the integration of Travelstop’s Book For Others feature.
There are also additional features that the company has added to support compliance of corporate travel policy, regional tax support and different payment options.
The company recently raised seed funding from SeedPlus and other angel investors to the tune of $1.2 million, reports said.
