Mark Bishopp has checked in at 2Checkout.com, a decade-old online payment solutions provider. Bishopp, the company’s new Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategic Development has developed a global business perspective, having traveled the world during his seven years as an auditor for Price Waterhouse.
In this exclusive NEXTcast interview, he unveils his strategy to grow 2Checkout.com’s presence in the payments sector, stresses the importance of tokenization and argues that the U.S. is behind with regards to mobile payment development.

Mark Bishopp joined 2CheckOut.com in 2010 and is currently holding the title of SVP-CIO Strategy & Technology. In this role, he oversees activities related to strategic planning, strategic partnerships, contract negotiations and all technical operations.
Mark is a dynamic and highly accomplished executive (22+ years) skilled in holding senior level Business and IT management roles internationally. His greatest asset is the ability to quickly partner across multiple divisions/disciplines within any organization to fully understand the corporate strategy to lead, align/standardize, develop and/or transform Executive Information Management, Business Intelligence and IT Department execution. Mark believes this approach helps to ensure acceptable levels of risk are achieved, while maintaining optimum levels of service, thereby reducing or eliminating the traditional gap between Business, Operations and IT.
Prior to joining 2CheckOut.com Mark began his career with PriceWaterhouse (pre the Coopers merger) for 7 years before establishing his own consulting firm holding various interim international executive positions including Global CIO at CL Financial in Trinidad; Latin American CIO at ING; Deputy CIO at Societe Generale in France; VP Operations and Procurement at ‘al khaliji’ bank in Qatar; VP Business Management at JPMorganChase; and Finance Business Director at Nationwide Insurance to name a few.
Mark holds a Bachelors in Business Administration degree from St. Bonaventure University (1988) with concentrations in Business, Accounting and Computer Science.
