Yogurty– a leading merchant of frozen yogurt so tasty that you won’t forget its not ice cream, but you also wont’ feel tricked into eating it–has announced an increase in mobile wallet integration just in time of the summer FroYo season.
Yogurty’s mobile app lets customers to pay for their purchases, earn loyalty points, redeeming rewards, participate in contests and send the gift of frozen yogurt to any friend, loved one or potential paramour that has a smart phone and a Yogurty’s within driving distance.
“Smartphones have become the most important item in people’s everyday lives, so when consumers are given the opportunity to pay for services with their phone, it is just an added level of convenience and yet another reason to interact with their most trusted device,” Daniel Ezer, president and founder, D1 Mobile Corp. told Mobile Commerce Daily. D1 designed Yogurty’s newly launched app.
The goal of the app goes beyond merely offering a payment method and a place to store rewards points. The goal is for the app to become an interactive experience for the FroYo-loving user that ties them to the brand and keeps them coming back. This means that the app is host to monthly events, like phot contests, that allow costumers to participate and win free frozen yogurt.
“It is not all about convenience,” Elzer said. “There are several brands that have offered mobile pay but have failed. Simply ‘going mobile’ is not a precursor for guaranteed success. The program itself must be well-designed and integrated with the in-store experience. Mobile is experiential. Games, loyalty points, rewards, deals and other engaging factors must also be considered for brands looking to successfully establish a footprint in a consumer’s mobile wallet.”
