BlueSnap has upgraded its client side encryption API to support iOS 8.
“With iOS 8 due for release, we moved ahead of the curve to ensure that BlueSnap will offer the high level of performance and security that we offer on all devices and operating systems,” said Ralph Dangelmaier, CEO of BlueSnap. “We can now assure our merchants that BlueSnap will be ready for their customers who upgrade to the new iOS.”
Given the swift adoption among consumers of Apple devices and software releases-during the last big upgrade, 74 percent of Apple’s mobile device users had upgraded to iOS 7 within three months-BlueSnap’s proactive support of the next Apple release aims at providing full coverage for all iOS users under its corporate banner.
The API encrypts payment field data on the checkout page on shoppers’ devices before the information is sent to a merchant’s server. BlueSnap’s servers then decrypt and process the data.
BlueSnap now offers hosted checkout pages, full APIs/web services and an API with client side encryption.
