By nature Washington, D.C., is a fast-paced population who like restaurants but don’t like to wait. With the launch of Pay with Open Table mobile payments option, there’s a solution to appease both consumers and owners in cutting out the wait to pay the bill.
Open Table, part of The Priceline Group, announced Tuesday (Oct. 14) that it launched the mobile payments option in the D.C. metropolitan area, which will allow diners to add a credit card on in the OpenTable iPhone app prior to visiting and pay on their own timeframe with one easy click. The technology eliminates the consumer burden of waiting for a check and keeps restaurant owners happy with the chance to turn around tables quicker.
Greater convenience to guests, east POS installation with no new equipment or apps to download, better service are a few perks the company highlights as reasons to attract merchants. Early users to join the service will also be featured in Open Table’s advertising, social media and email marketing.
“Just as we solved the pain of booking a reservation, we have a tremendous opportunity to solve the pain of settling the check, and Washington, D.C., is a natural place to demonstrate this,” OpenTable chief executive Matt Roberts told the Washington Business Journal
The Pay on Open Table option comes without any extra strings, codes, or scanning of barcodes. This choice is already available on New York City and San Francisco and is expected to hit 20 cities before the year’s end.
