New PYMNTS Provider Ranking: The Doctor Is In-App

Telehealth

The doctor is in. Your phone, that is. Telemedicine is all the rage as the deadly novel coronavirus continues making routine doctors’ office visits seem like house calls of old.

Anyone remember house calls? And is telemedicine not that, in the palm of one’s hand? We at PYMNTS think so. In that healing spirit, here’s our latest Provider Ranking of Telemedicine Apps.

The Top Five

There’s something reassuring about finding “the doctors” where you left them, so to speak — and so it is with much of this latest ranking.

Top players are holding fast to prime spots, with Teladoc firmly at No. 1, followed at No. 2 by Doctor On Demand, then the AI-powered K Health | Primary Care app steady at No. 3.

Still holding at No. 4 is MyTeleMed.

There’s a newcomer to the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Telemedicine Apps top five, and it’s BetterHelp, which offers web-based, phone and text counseling and therapy, entering at No. 5.

The Top 10

As we move on down the list, we find lots of little changes — and a fairly big one to cap it off.

Dropping one spot to No. 6 in the latest ranking is Canada’s Maple — 24/7 Online Doctors app, followed at No. 7 by Vsee Clinic For Patient, also falling one chart position from the previous ranking, as well as the MDLIVE app that dropped one spot to No. 8 and LiveHealth Online Mobile, which slipped down a spot to grab No. 9 this time around

You’ve been “patient” — so here’s the big change this time out: The InTouch Patient app comes out of the ether to land at No. 10, completing the top 10 for this edition of Provider Rankings.
