Chaser has launched an application programming interface (API) for its accounts receivable (AR) management tools.
With the new Chaser API, small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) can integrate Chaser’s AR management tools with their enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) or accounting system, Chaser Chief Technology Officer Pedro Sampaio wrote in a Tuesday (Jan. 17) blog post.
“Today customers expect easy connectivity for products and services and [SMBs], in particular, are choosing integrated software in lieu of traditional ERPs to save on costs,” Sampaio wrote in the post. “Software is expected to be smart and integrate automatically across software. APIs are enabling these integrations and have become the key to market relevance for many companies.”
The Chaser API acts as an intermediary between the SMB’s chosen system and the Chaser AR software, removing the need for spreadsheets when putting data into Chaser, streamlining the AR workflow and enabling the SMB to use Chaser’s receivables management functionality, according to the post.
Once integrated with Chaser, SMBs can use the AR tools to gain full visibility of invoices and communications with debtors, send automatic email and SMS payment reminders and enable customers to see all their invoices in one place and make instant payments, the post said.
“Businesses can maintain great customer relationships whilst getting invoices paid faster,” Sampaio wrote in the post. “Via Chaser API they can access advanced customization, segmenting and scheduling, and apply their organization’s branding and tone of voice on all communications.”
PYMNTS research has found that payments delays are a perpetual nuisance in many industries, as they can result in downstream cash flow issues that harm accounts payable (AP), payroll and other departments.
Because of the importance of cash flow considerations, 82% of chief financial officers (CFOs) measure AR turnover to gauge their success in raising customers’ overall value, according to the “Working Capital Playbook,” a PYMNTS and YayPay collaboration.
AR automation can provide numerous benefits to corporate accounting teams, reducing payment errors and delays that can lead to big costs in terms of downstream cash flow issues, the report said.
London-based Chaser helps with collections by suggesting when it’s time to escalate a case, enabling users to do so within the applications, and providing a debt collection service and a pay plan functionality, Chaser CEO Sonia Dorais told PYMNTS in an interview posted in December 2021.
“That’s really a win-win for most businesses because it enables the other business to maintain a more easy cash flow, and it also helps our client get paid and continue that positive relationship with their clients,” Dorais said at the time. “That’s essentially our entire mission, making payments not uncomfortable.”
