Amazon is making several in-house brands these days, among them its newest one, Amazon Aware, which makes sustainable, everyday essentials like home goods, beauty and apparel, CNN wrote Thursday (March 3).
The products in the Amazon line are available from the Amazon Aware page, with the collection featuring products with certifications that are carbon neutral.
This is in line with Amazon’s “Climate Pledge Friendly” program, according to the company, with users able to select products such as facial tissue and toilet paper made from recycled materials, or organic items like bedsheets or duvet covers. Customers can also browse by category, including household essentials, perfect basics, apparel and more.
Per the report, Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly program serves as an umbrella to showcase products meeting third-party standards and certification.
Apparel will have to meet the conditions of the Global Recycled Standard and every item’s carbon footprint will be calculated by an external certifier before Amazon offsets emissions with high-quality carbon credits, according to CNN.
Amazon also announced another change recently in that it would be shuttering all its physical bookstores, along with the “Amazon 4-Star” locations and mall pop-up locations, which will narrow its brick and mortar locations instead to focus on grocery ventures.

It will be looking at the Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods, Amazon Go and Amazon Style stores, along with the Just Walk Out tech. Despite the closures, the company said it was still committed to building great long-term retail experiences and technologies.
Amazon has 24 bookstores, 33 4-Star locations and nine kiosks located in malls. The company also initially planned to open up 16 more 4-Star locations, which may not go ahead now at all.
The 4-Star locations looked to highlight various highly-rated products that had been popular on the webstore.
