According to Re/code’s John Paczkowski, October 16th will be the date of this year’s iPad announcement.
It is also said to be that Apple will hold the event on the Apple campus, rather than a bigger external venue, like they did for the iPhones launch this year.
The focus of the event will be on a new line of enhanced iPads, the new version on Mac OS X (Yosemite) and new Retina iMacs. The hype isn’t expected to be as major as the iPhone 6 launch, but it is still promising to reignite the demand for the iPad, which have experienced a decline in sales year-over-year.
Apple’s goal is to spark a widespread adoption of their mobile payment platform, Apply Pay. To help do just that, the iPad is expected to have Touch ID integration.
