In Apple news this week: While full details won’t be revealed until this Friday at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2017), there are grumblings about the company’s soon-t0-be-announced Business Chat offering.
In an effort to attract businesses onto its iMessage platform, this new feature will have the capability to answer customer questions, offer customer service options and possibly perform financial transactions. It’s likely that Business Chat will be available to Mac users this fall through the new iOS 11.
At this time, the most consumers can glean from the Apple Developer website’s description is that Business Chat will be significantly integrated into the iOS system and the tech giant’s native apps. Rather than finding a phone number for a business, those using Apple products will have the opportunity to strike up a conversation through Safari, Maps, Spotlight and Siri via instant message.
