Apple is looking at a better 2022 than last year, promising new iPhones, AirPods and a potential VR headset, Bloomberg writes.
While 2021 was the most successful year for revenue in the company’s history, it didn’t have many new introductions.
That’s what Apple has promised to change this coming year.
The tech giant will reportedly have a new lineup consisting of pro Macs, along with the biggest MacBook Air redesign in the history of the product.
There will also be a new iPad Pro with wireless charging.
Then there will come a 5G version of an iPhone SE, and a new iPhone 14 range with a hole-punch-sized notch later in the fall.
There will also be three new Apple Watches, including a new SE, a Series 8 and a version tailored for extreme sports enthusiasts.
The report says Apple could end up announcing a new VR headset, which is codenamed N301. But there’s no definite timeline for that. The project has been kicked down the road before, initially set for 2020 and then 2021.
PYMNTS writes that, in other Apple-related news, the company has been giving distinct and sizable stock bonuses in an attempt to keep talent away from rivals like Facebook parent Meta.

Apple told engineers that the bonuses were out-of-cycle and had come with shares vesting over four years, which could motivate workers to stay with the company.
The bonuses came as a surprise to those who got them. They ranged from $50,000 to as much as $180,000.
The purported idea was to give bonuses to performers who have done well.
Some engineers were reportedly annoyed with the selections, as they didn’t get shares and felt it was all subjective.
Meta has hired around 100 engineers in the last few months from Apple.
