Weave has added artificial intelligence (AI)-driven voicemail transcriptions to its all-in-one experience platform for small- to medium-sized healthcare practices.

By transcribing voicemails from patients, Weave’s platform enables efficient, convenient and private reading experiences, the company said in a Monday (Oct. 30) press release.

Users can access the voicemail transcriptions by clicking on the Voicemail tab within the Desktop Application or mobile app, according to the release. This enhances the overall user experience by allowing them to quickly consume messages without having to listen to audio, particularly in busy settings.

Weave customers who have already implemented AI technology report they save an average of an hour per day, Weave Chief Product and Technology Officer Branden Neish said in the release.

“AI will only continue to grow in popularity and daily use, which will have a transformative impact on the future of the healthcare industry,” Neish said.

Weave has found that patients are receptive to providers using AI tools in healthcare settings and believe it leads to improved care and patient experiences, according to the press release. The company also found that about two-thirds of consumers and about three-quarters of healthcare providers believe that AI will become a prevalent tool in healthcare.

The addition of AI-driven voicemail transcriptions builds on previous Weave advancements such as the Email Assistant and Response Assistant, the release said. These tools have been added to the company’s software solutions for patient engagement, optometry, dental practice management and patient relationship management that connect the entire customer journey, from the initial phone call to the final invoice.

PYMNTS Intelligence has found that the generative AI market for healthcare is valued at more than $1 billion as of 2022, and it is projected to swell to nearly $22 billion by 2032.

Healthcare companies recognize the technology’s potential to transform health and medicine and are teaming up with tech giants and startups to introduce cutting-edge AI technology to all aspects of care — from research to treatment to billing, according to “Generative AI Can Elevate Health and Revolutionize Healthcare,” a PYMNTS and AI-ID collaboration.

In another recent move, Weave said in September that it has partnered with payment network Affirm to provide flexible payment options for eligible patients. This partnership will integrate Affirm’s pay-over-time options with the Weave platform.
