Global retail bank and buy now pay later (BNPL) specialist Klarna is introducing its Pay Now option to its suite of U.S. payment services, along with the upcoming launch of its Klarna Card to the U.S. market, which brings its interest-free Pay in 4 services to a physical card format.
Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Klarna’s co-founder and CEO, said in a press release on Tuesday (Nov. 23) that people are rebuffing high-interest rates and fees associated with revolving credit and are looking for “choice, control and flexibility” whether they shop and pay online or in-store.
“With the introduction of Pay Now, Klarna now offers U.S. consumers the choice to pay immediately and in full, alongside our sustainable interest-free services. By launching Pay Now and introducing the Klarna Card in the U.S., we are continually developing our services to meet consumers’ changing needs,” he said.

The Klarna Card is well established in Europe and will soon connect to Klarna’s loyalty program, Vibe, which extends exclusive deals and discounts to rewards users who aren’t late with payments. The card links to the Klarna app so people can securely track transactions and manage payments. The Klarna Card also can also be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Klarna has almost doubled its number of U.S. customers to more than 21 million in the past year. The company works to continually strengthen its offerings, such as Klarna Express, now live at Macy’s and Coach.
Klarna also rolled out a subscription service, a “first-of-its-kind solution in the market” that enables people to pay for annual subscriptions and memberships in four installments.
