Sezzle, THG Team Up On Flexible Retail Financing

Buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform Sezzle announced Tuesday (Aug. 24) it is joining forces with digital consumer group THG on a next-generation Sezzle financing solution for all THG brand companies, according to a press release.

THG will offer Sezzle, which works with more than 40,000 brands around the world, as a payment option across its portfolio through its THG Ingenuity eCommerce platform for THG brands, including Skinstore, Dermstore, Lookfantastic and Myprotein, the release stated.

The Sezzle and THG partnership will “allow millions of consumers to pay with purpose and build their credit while doing so,” according to the release.

“THG Ingenuity is our proprietary, end-to-end technology and operating platform, which powers all THG brands,” said THG Ingenuity CEO John Gallemore in the release. “We are focused on innovation and supercharging growth, both globally and at speed. As part of this, we’re committed to providing customers with the very best experience and a wealth of choice when it comes to payment methods. Partnering with Sezzle helps us to evolve this further and deliver even more success for our brands.”

This week, Sezzle submitted a draft registration statement for an initial public offering (IPO) to the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC). Neither the number of shares nor price were revealed in the filing.

The IPO will likely happen after the SEC completes its review process, subject to market conditions.

Sezzle CEO Charlie Youakim told PYMNTS that the company will continue offering products to eventually become a one-stop shop and an onramp for more traditional credit services.

In addition to working with global retailers, Sezzle formed a partnership with Gridiron Football youth football league in June on a digital payment solution.
