Vantiv, the payment processing services company, announced on Wednesday (Aug. 3) a new channel-focused business advisory service, dubbed PaymentsEdge.
The new business will help partners in every channel, whether it’s a financial institution or a software company. The new group will fall under Vantiv’s Xcelerator Solutions, which was formed to optimize partner portfolio revenue growth and to attract new customers.
In conjunction with announcing PaymentsEdge, Vantiv said it tapped payment processing veteran Jim Roddy to lead advisory services for the integrated payment channel. He will serve as the reseller and ISV business advisor and will focus on retail, hospitality and grocery markets. Roddy, who joined Vantiv in June to launch the new program, is well-known in the industry and is the former president of Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine. He’s also the past chair of the RSPA board of directors.
“We are taking the value of partnering with Vantiv to the next level by offering business advisory services to the integrated payments channel,” Matt Taylor, group president of integrated payments and emerging channels at Vantiv, said in a press release announcing the new business. “This is a great opportunity for businesses to work with experts to focus on things outside their expertise to help their business grow and thrive.”
As for Roddy, the company said he is “perfect” for this kind of service. “Jim will go beyond providing advice and will strategize with solutions providers, face-to-face or by video conference. He will take a deep dive into their business to deliver specific guidance and assistance with their business activities, well beyond payments, as a proof point that channel vitality and the open ecosystem is critical to future innovation for the point-of-sale market,” Matt Downs, head of business and channel development for integrated payments at Vantiv, said.
