American Express and Delta Air Lines are introducing a limited edition credit card created with 25% metal from Delta Ship #6307, a retired Boeing 747-400. The new card pays homage to the Boeing 747, the first wide-body jet affectionately known as the Queen of the Skies or the Whale.

The card design features the Delta Boeing 747 aircraft and is available to new and existing Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business Card members through Aug. 3.

An augmented reality experience is embedded into the card design, with exclusive content that includes the history of the Boeing 747, interviews with Delta pilots and crew members, and a look at how Delta Ship #6307 became a passenger plane, according to a press release on Thursday (June 16).

The last Boeing 747 aircraft was retired by Delta in 2018 as more fuel-efficient fleets became the mainstay. That last Boeing 747 joined other retired planes in an aircraft graveyard in the Arizona desert, according to reports.
