Payments credit union service organization (CUSO) PSCU has named Dave Stafford to the company’s new role of executive vice president and chief transformation officer.

In addition, the firm has appointed Stephen Summers chief information officer, taking over the role previously held by Stafford, PSCU said Tuesday (Nov. 1) in a press release.

In his new role, Stafford will oversee PSCU’s newly established Transformation Office, which aims to accelerate the pace of change, help the company focus on new investments and establish infrastructure to support these initiatives, according to the press release.

“Our new Transformation Office will be instrumental in helping PSCU focus on and execute against forward-looking priorities for years to come,” PSCU President and CEO Chuck Fagan said in the release. “As the newest member of PSCU’s executive team, we are confident Dave will challenge us and ensure collaboration across the organization, driving operational enhancements that will build on our success and push PSCU to the next level as we look to the future.”

Stafford has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has been with PSCU since 2012 and served as senior vice president and chief information officer for the last seven years, according to the press release.

Summers, who will now serve as senior vice president and chief information officer, has 25 years’ experience in information technology (IT). He has been with PSCU since 2020 and most recently served as managing vice president of IT Enterprise Shared Services, per the release.

PYMNTS research has found that to cement the allegiance of their members, credit unions must offer innovative products and services based on new technology.

The race to keep up with the latest and greatest offerings is very much on the minds of credit union executives, 39% of whom are pivoting from new product development to adding fresh features to existing services, according to “Credit Union Innovation: The Race To Meet Consumer Demand,” a PYMNTS and PSCU collaboration.
