Credit wellness platform Credit Sesame has begun work with Trulioo, a global identification verification company, in order to boost services overall, according to a press release.
Credit Sesame will be using Trulioo GlobalGateway in order to provide identity checks on users, helping to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, the release stated.
Trulioo’s tech helps to make sure Credit Sesame’s work is “effective and compliant,” according to the release.
The release stated the pandemic, with its greater need for secure, rapid and quick ID verification services, has bolstered the need for companies like Trulioo. And Credit Sesame has seen more of a need in the past few years, with over 200,000 new accounts launched since its first month and bolstered by the launch of Sesame Cash, its program for digital bank accounts in which customers can manage cash and credit at the same time. That program helps to boost customers’ credit scores.
Credit Sesame Global Head of Operations Nicolas Dinh said in the release that the company’s mission is to “empower people to take charge of their financial situation and to achieve their financial goals. In order to do this, we need to build trust with our customers, ensuring that their security and identities are protected when they sign up for our services. We see this as an absolutely critical step in building long-lasting and meaningful relationships with our customers.”
He said the company has put effort into “digitizing and automating the onboarding process so that manual intervention is required as a fallback measure when it’s necessary.”
Earlier this year, Trulioo Chief Operating Officer Zac Cohen told PYMNTS that the massive surge in eCommerce offerings has left many companies inadequately prepared for identity-based attacks, with many of them using “one-size-fits-all” approaches that both lock out legitimate customers and leave doors open for fraudsters. He said the solution will come via additional levers and mechanisms to make sure identity is easier to discern.
