HealthTech PayGround has partnered with Plastiq, a payments platform, to expand how patients pay their medical bills, the Arizona healthcare payments network announced Tuesday (April 5).
Under the agreement, patients can pay medical providers using their credit, debit or flexible spending and health savings account cards card through the PayGround mobile app.
The app was introduced in December with automated clearing house capabilities. Patients using Plastiq can now pay any healthcare provider through their preferred method.
“Making healthcare payments to multiple providers is a fact of life for most people, and it can get complicated. But it shouldn’t be,” said PayGround CEO and co-founder Drew Mercer in a statement. “We designed the app to make it easy to securely store payment methods within a PayGround Digital Wallet, so they can be easily accessed again in the future.”
To gain access, patients search for their provider in the app and select their payment method. The features also allow the ability to pay all providers for a family from one account. It aims to reduce the time and hassle of sorting through medical bills and tracking payments.
In February, PayGround announced its collaboration with eClinicalWorks, which automates patient payments and billing.

In December, PayGround integrated with the eClinicalWorks (eCW) platform to offer automated healthcare payments processing.
Through the partnership, medical workers benefit from the reduction in paper processes and the ease of automated updates, while patients benefit from online payments via PayGround’s website or mobile app.
