Virtual healthcare offering BlueJeans Telehealth now includes a Televisit Tile and integration with the Apple Health app to improve patients’ video-based interactions with their medical professionals.
The new tools allow patients to share their heart rate, sleep patterns, falls and more with their providers during telehealth visits and gives them control over which information they share.
Telehealth use has stabilized as of July 2021 at levels 38 times higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to McKinsey and Company.
“The future of virtual healthcare is dependent on connectivity and the ability to drive real-time insights and deliver care through connected health,” said Krish Ramakrishnan, chief of innovation and products at BlueJeans by Verizon.
Ramakrishnan continued and said, “By empowering patients to share this level of contextual information directly into the BlueJeans Telehealth visit, we are enabling patients and healthcare providers to have more meaningful conversations and successful virtual consultations that can lead to better patient outcomes.”

BlueJeans Vice President and General Manager Eric Spadafora told PYMNTS’ Karen Webster in June that the company’s service was once intermittent and inconsistent but is now reliable and essential.
“One hundred percent of people are now comfortable with video, and 100 percent of people here in the states have smartphones,” Spadafora said. “Video’s here to stay. We are competing in that space as a challenger brand nested inside of a global brand, and our whole strategy around that is being able to build purpose-built solutions on the platform, of which telehealth is the first.”
That’s allowed BlueJeans to construct solutions focused on new vertical markets.
Spadafora told Webster, regarding virtual healthcare, “We want to democratize this in a way and put it in people’s hands, so as [long as] you have internet, you don’t need an app, you don’t have to have a Gmail account or a provider network — with the web, you can access a medical professional.”
