Payroc, with its new Payroc Health service, aims to advance healthcare payments by integrating practice management with premium payment processing in one platform, a company press release emailed to PYMNTS says.
Payroc Health will be outfitted with advanced terminal technology for both card-present and contactless possibilities for payment flexibility. Customers will have the ability to make secure, efficient payments, and medical practices will gain increased collections at the time of treatment and afterward.
Payroc put together a “dedicated team” and added focal points in the software such as 24/7 balance collection, a safe recurring payments platform and guaranteed HIPAA compliance, according to the release.
The Payroc Health platform will utilize contactless payments, which has become essential in the pandemic, as people migrate away from touching screens so as to avoid COVID-19. The Payroc Health platform comes with a digital clipboard and text-message payment links, per the release.
In addition, Payroc Health’s practice management software allows medical offices not only to receive patient payments, but to collect patient medical information, an integration that it is “critical” to the efficiency of any medical practice, according to the release. The payments are then processed in real time, reflecting automatically on the patient’s balance. Manual entry of patient data is less needed that way.
“This breakthrough into the healthcare vertical marks a new chapter for Payroc. We are excited to work with healthcare practices and provide them the best solution for their offices,” said Chief Revenue Officer Adam Oberman. “Payroc Health offers seamless connection between any practice management software and Payroc premium processing.”
Payroc Chief Financial Officer Kevin Hodges told PYMNTS recently that the current trend of surcharging, re-emerging recently, has to be done a certain way. He said Payroc has a surcharge program that depends on the geography of the user and certain card types, able to track things better and make it easier to do business for merchants.
Hodges said there could be situations where customers or merchants don’t mind taking on the surcharges, such as to access special rewards.
