New Coupon App Provider Ranking Saves Tons of Money Amid Chart Changes

Provider rankings, mobile coupons, discounts, mobile applications

Nothing lets the air out of your tires like inflation. We’ve all watched the price of everything from groceries to gasoline steadily climb to the point where we need a hand.

Fortunately for our readers, there’s PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Coupon Apps. Here congregate the top of the class when it comes to saving on just about any consumer product, and it’s never been more useful than right now.

Usually this is a calm ranking. Not much jostling of chart positions. Not so this time.

Buckle up, you savers. It’s going to be a rocking ride to deeper discounts.

The Top 5

When people fall in love with apps they can stick like glue to chart positions for months on end.

Such is the case with Groupon, still at No. 1 with no end in sight.

That fact may frustrate PayPal-owned Honey Smart Shopping Assistant, which remains at No. 2. Honey began offering cash back in October, so let’s see what happens next month.

The changes starts at No. 3, where we find the Ibotta app, already so ranked, now sharing space in a tie with the Flipp app, which rose one spot in the process.

Prescription prices are edging up as well, pushing the GoodRX app up one chart position to No. 4 this cycle. Their revenue is up 125% YoY, and the platform now has over 1 million subscribers.

Last month, after a trip to the gas station, we predicted that the GasBuddy app would rise in these rankings, and so it has. Welcome back to the Top 5 at No. 5, buddy.

The Top 10

Among Top 5 aspirants, we find the Rakuten Rewards app at No. 6, up a spot. Good job.

Ever see how high a piggy can climb? Let us refer you to the Receipt Hog app, scampering up two chart positions since last cycle to make itself comfy at No. 7 this cycle.

No change for the popular Shopkick app at No. 8, this month as last. That’s saving…exertion.

Big upset as the ShopSavvy app comes blazing out of the blue to enter the Top 10 at No. 9. Not bad. Maybe we should keep an eye on this one. Just a hunch.

The RetailMeNot app holds firm at No. 10, with its focus on accessories, automotive, baby products, beauty products, clothing, electronics, furniture and health. No wonder they keep charting. That’s a lot of necessary stuff, and we’ve covered the inflation thing already.

That, as they say, is that. Until next month, keep your costs down. Try an app.
